I have now patched the same small tear three times and every time it holds for one wear and then starts curling up at the corner.
My method: clean the area with a bit of the solvent that came with the kit, cut a square of repair latex, put glue on both sides, wait a bit, press it down hard, leave it under a book overnight. It looks perfect in the morning. Then I wear it once and the edge has lifted.
What am I doing wrong? Is it the glue, the prep, or the fact that I am cutting squares? I am close to giving up and paying someone but I would rather learn to do it, because I doubt this is the last tear I will ever have.
