First latex event next month and my nerves are shot, what should I expect?

I finally bought a ticket to a latex event next month, and now the nerves have properly set in. I do not really know anyone else going, I have never once worn my latex outside my own flat, and I keep picturing myself walking in and instantly feeling like the odd one out.

What etiquette should I know before I turn up? How dressed up do people actually get, and is it rude to just watch and take it all in for a bit at first? I am not shy exactly, just very aware that I do not know the unwritten rules yet. Any kind words from people who still remember their own first night would honestly mean a lot.
