Will any of this look right on a bigger body?

Bit nervous posting this. I am a size that is well above what I see in every photograph anyone posts of this stuff, and I have basically talked myself out of buying anything twice now.

The pictures do not help. Everyone in them is built the same way and the garments are clearly cut for that. I do not want to spend a lot of money and a lot of nerve on something that arrives and looks like a sausage casing.

So an honest question for anyone here who is not a size eight. Does it work? Is there anything specific to look for in the cut, or a type of piece that is more forgiving? And is made to measure the answer, or is that just what people say when they want you to spend more?
