Small nick right next to a seam, is it repairable or is it done?

Caught my latex skirt on a chair bracket and now there is a small nick right beside a seam, maybe the length of a grain of rice. It has not gone all the way through yet, but I can see it wanting to spread the moment I stretch the piece. Do I have any hope of saving this, or is a tear near a seam basically a death sentence? I really do not want to bin something I love over damage this small. If it is fixable, what do I use, and is this a job I can do myself or one for a proper maker? Genuinely gutted about it.
