How do people actually find latex events? Everything feels hidden

Maybe I am just looking in all the wrong places, but finding real latex or rubber events feels weirdly difficult. The general event sites turn up nothing useful, and I really do not want to end up somewhere sketchy simply because it was the only thing I could turn up in a search. How does everyone actually hear about the good, well-run nights? Is it word of mouth, private groups, particular listing sites? I moved cities recently, so I have no local contacts to quietly ask. I am more than happy to travel a bit for something proper and safe. Can anyone point me in a sensible direction?
